Paris and Montmartre.....

When Caroline and I were in Paris in April, we covered a lot of ground in our 5 and half days, Bateaux Mouche with Dawn and Leesa, walk along the Seine on our first evening, Eiffel tower, Arc de Triomphe, Sacre Coeur, The Louvre, seeking out places in the Marais area, going to Montparnasse for meal with Leesa, having lunch with our blogger/expat friends, going to the suburbs to meet our friend Barbara, meeting up with Leesa, Andrea and Opal, a quick walk around Jardin du Luxembourg, going to the churches,a walk through a Cemetery, trip to Marais at night, and a few meals out in our local restaurant in the evenings! ...OH yes looking at the shops, walking Rue de Rivoli, to meet Leesa, visiting markets, Champs Elysees at night!

To add to all of this, we went back to Montmartre a second time.. not to go to the Sacre Coeur, but to walk around the shops and to visit the Artists Square which is brilliant, amazing to see them all there, painting in their different styles. Some do try and get you to have your portrait done, so have to be careful of the hasslers, a polite no thank you, worked for us!

Phew how did we do all that and sleep, eat and have cafe breaks !! Well we did, and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip, thanks to Leesa, Dawn, Barbara, Kim B, Carolyn, Elizabeth, Andrea, and everyone else we met, who made us feel so welcome. I cannot thank Leesa enough, for first of all inviting us, and secondly meeting us at Gare du Nord with Dawn, and being there for us all the week.

  13. This post reminds me of my last trip to Paris when I was heavily pregnant with my (now 6yr old) son. It was a beautiful trip and we seemed to just drift from cafe to cafe eating pastries and drinking coffee.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos!
