is amazing! I was dumbstruck when I saw it. I have seen photos, but never could I of imagined what the Eiffel Tower was really like. This large iron structure looming over Champ de Mars......dark and gloomy, yet so magical. Lighting up the area by night, and then if thats not enough...the tower twinkles in the evening for 5 minutes every hour on the hour. This was originally 10 minutes, but the time has been cut for energy saving. The views are magnificent, stretching for miles. Awesome, Magnificent, and Unique.
It is an amazing sight isn't it. I must admit I have never seen the twinkling.

ReplyDeleteI was last in Paris 40 years ago and marvelled then at the sight of the Eiffel Tower....I don't think it 'twinkled' then.
We were en route to the South for a camping holiday in le Lavandou....Happy days and warm memories of the exuberance of younger years!

Dear old Tour Eiffel. I remember going to wish it a happy birthday back in 1989. There was a time when I hated it because I'd taken so many school groups up there but now I quite like it again.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos from Paris! It looks like you had a good time there. Thanks for your lovely messages on our blog!
