Santiago , Chile.

 

Marilyn travels a lot , and she doesn't have a blog . I

think she should, maybe one day!!

Santiago, also Santiago de Chile, is the capital and

largest city of Chile and  is located in the country's central valley,

at an elevation of 520 m above mean sea level.

 

 

Looks fabulous.  They also  went to

Easter Island. Has anyone been to Easter Island?

Marilyn and her husband Trev are the only people I know to go.

Two  days before Christmas. 

 I had a parcel from ITALY !!

 

I had a huge surprise !!

 

Well what was inside was a surprise but unfortunately

he (Christian) had to tell me  to expect the delivery as the company,

he uses, wanted a phone number for me. So he had to ask me.

 

Christian is a  wonderful young man , who I happened

to meet when working at Williams F1. He is Italian, he lives in Italy with his

wife AND  he is a WILLIAMS F1 FAN!!!  (Unusual :-) )

 

He lives in Verona , and one day I will go ,he will be my guide.

How wonderful. Funny thing is, he says he lives in the WRONG country!!

And I live near his TEAM !!

all the way from VERONA

 

 

And a box of Waferini ..



 

I was over the moon , I was shocked and surprised , I wept a tear.. 

Such a  wonderful gift .  It meant a lot .

 

Just as much as  the Williams shirt I sent him means to him!!

Back in October

I did a post for

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

which my friend Rosa

asked if I would like to take part

along with Bloggers in Italy and a few

other countries.

One of the ladies taking part ...

was JoAnne - Frutto della Passione..

JoAnne's post included a giveaway

of a $25 gift certificate to spend at

the Breast Cancer store, where

each item purchased generates funds for

for more free mammograms.

I was totally unaware of the certificate
but just left  a comment for JoAnne
about her great post
and  guess what?

I won the certificate. 
Could not believe it.!!

I had to go to the website and choose
a gift , which I can tell you took me a long
time, so many wonderful gifts on there, work out
how to pay and wait for the
 gift to come from America.

I knew this was the gift to choose
as soon as I saw the words
on the pendant...

the same as in my header!!

Birthday Gift Surprise ........

before I left for my holiday.

My holiday to Montreal

was a spur of the moment trip.

Booked one week before

as I have always been unsure

of flying, especially on my own.

My Daughter-in-law is always ready on time

for gifts and cards, so once she heard I was

going, she got my card etc off in the post.

I was going to take it with me and

OPEN on the DAY.

Claire phoned me and said " I think you

better open it,

as it might be handy!

That got me thinking!!

Claire and I had seen this on a day out at Millets Farm near me, quite a while ago. Millets Farm is one of those places with Flowers and Gifts and a Restaurant where everyone goes on a Sunday!!

I was truly surprised.. it is great and very girly ♥♥

An impromptu trip to Buckingham today….

with my husband so that he could check out and test drive a car, gave me chance to browse around the town, which has lovely gift shops especially one named Mooch!

This little case for glasses had my name on !!!

We even had time for coffee, so all in all, a great few hours!

last week while they went to Cornwall.

Surprises .......

came from Canada, two wonderful surprises on my mat, so great when you never expect them!

I had a lovely postcard from my friend Barbara, Home in France, who was visiting Montreal and Quebec with her husband Didier. So pleased they had a great time, a well deserved break. They are back in Paris now, with posts up already! So why don't you pop over to her blog and read about their trip, she also has great photos. Thank you Barbara!!

and my other surprise, was from my friend Lucy, who's blog is On my way 2 work and other stuff.... she sent me a little package..inside was a cute little stamp!!

You press the stamp into bread, and when it is toasted it says Bonjour with an outline of the Eiffel tower! I will never forget Paris, great for my toast in the mornings with my French confiture !! Thank you so much Lucy..a great gift!!!

Lucy's blog is brilliant with fabulous photos, Sunsets, Sunrises, and lots about her area in Pickering Ontario. Why not call in and have a read of Lucy's blog , You will not be disappointed.

A wonderful present …………

was given to me today, by one of my best friends who lives near me.

Gillie and her family, and her twin sister Sarah (best friend too) and family have just  been to France for their holidays in La Clusaz,  at Gillies holiday chalet, and I missed them both.  Gillie knew I was going to Paris and surprise surprise……..

a beautiful clock, so I can remind myself of Paris, everyday……

Gillie also gave me another clock a few months ago, ….she couldn’t find the right place to put it, and thought I would like it……. Can you see where this one comes from….Italy…..Firenze ..

Like it…I love it…so I now have French clock in my Kitchen and Italian clock in my conservatory….and can swap them over ..when I like.!!

I am very lucky to have friends like Sarah and Gillie..who have been here for me since I moved to this area.  Sarah is the lovely lady who owns the ceramic shop I go to..I hope I find my motivation to paint again……They live next door to each other..which is great for me, normally get to see them both together..

I was pottering around at the sink this evening round about 7 ish...and directly in front of me was this!!!

Luckily I had my camera ready, it was gone within 10 minutes...Good job really, my dinner was cooking!!!

Another wonderful surprise ...

came through my letter box today, this time from my great friend Sally in Norfolk.



Sally has just returned from a fabulous trip to Peru, with her boyfriend Geoff....do look at her blog and read about their fantastic trip and her photos, they are truly amazing.... Sally and I talked about going to the Peru and the Inca trail, about 5 years ago, obviously we never went, and when Geoff suggested it, Sally was over the moon, a much longed for trip!!

One thing you must read is about their, what I would call terrifying Bike ride...The road of Death bike ride!! The name just says it all. Sally takes on any challenge, and succeeds. So well done :-)

The little icon is I believe is an Inca Man, and I know there is a story behind them, but I am unable to find it. Hopefully Sally will let me know and I can add a link.
