La Butte aux Cailles - 13th arrondissement - Paris

My friends Leesa, Barbara and Dawn, and I were meeting up here to have lunch at Aimee's teashop, L'oisive The.

I was a bit early, so decided to take a stroll around this area.

Church Sainte-Anne de la Buttes-aux-Cailles

Graffiti on a door way!

Had a lovely walk round and then back to meet my friends for lunch!

  2. I used to live in the 13th...on Rue le Brun in a maid's room. I love the photos, especially the ones of stained glass!

  4. Bonjour Anne,

OMG; one of your fav Paris walks :)
I like la Butte-aux-Cailles a lot because it has a small village feel to it. A rare feeling in today's bustling capital.

Great memories there of last August, too .
    XXOO Happy weekend.

  6. Hello Anne! Oh, Paris. It looms so large but it hovers over you. It invites you in its intimate neighborhoods, and somehow embraces you with its romance with architecture, history, and beauty. Thank you for the stroll.

  7. I meant to say that Paris looms large but NEVER hovers over you.

  11. Hi Anne! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and sharing some of your Paris memories! You have a beautiful blog here yourself and am very happy to call myself your new follower.

Also cheers on knowing the other female that is buried in the pantheon! I am well well impressed!

  14. The area is famous for graffiti, sometimes "official" and allowed ones!

Did you try the water on the central place? There you have one of the three remaining Paris sources with ream spring water from deep down.
