Holiday continued .. still on Day 1 with Barbara......Parc Montsouris

Barbara and I started our day out,
planning to go to Parc Montsouris
but as you know by previous posts we
had a bit of a detour.. here and here !!

We finally got there!

Parc Montsouris is a beautiful rambling parc,
full of birdlife and wonderful trees. and statues.
With Playgrounds ,  Puppet Theatre and a train ride
through the Parc.
Parc Montsouris  is in the 14th arrondissement,
it is styled as an English Garden. Ordained by Napoleon lll and
Baron Haussmann as part of a plan to add green areas to Paris.
Barbara and I had a wonderful day :-)

I have been a neglectful blogger ---- Postcards from my friends..

I looked at my ♥ postcard
frame and yikes , I saw three
new ones !!

The first one is from Dana who lives in Stresa,
a beautiful part of Italy, which I have yet to visit.

Dana's blog is Stresa Sights , very interesting with
lots and lots of brilliant info and great photos of this area and more.
Anyone with a huge interest in Italy should go over
and have a read.. you will not be disappointed.

Dana thought of my postcard collection, which was so
great of her, and she even posted it from America. ♥

My second card is from
Koralee - Bluebird Notes.

A beautiful handmade card,
with a tasty cupcake on ♥

You must go over and read and see
Koralee's pretty blog, so colourful and
inspirational.

My third card is from my wonderful friend Brigitte who lives in Paris.

She was on holiday in Tunisia and thought of me ♥

Brigitte is a lady of many talents .. one being a singer!
She is amazing... so if you are ever in Paris you must
find out where she is singing and GO!

Big Thank you to Dana, Koralee and Brigitte ♥

Parc Andre Citroen - 15th arrondissement - Paris

is very interesting,
with lots of different gardens,
fountains and balloon rides.

There are six serial gardens and they are associated with a metal, a planet, a day of the week, a state of water and as sense.

The blue garden: copper, Venus, Friday, rain, and the sense of smell,
The green garden: tin, Jupiter, Thursday, spring water, and the sense of hearing.
The orange garden: mercury (the metal), Mercury (the planet), Wednesday, creeks, and the sense of touch.
The red garden: iron, Mars, Tuesday, waterfalls, and the sense of taste.
The silver garden: silver, the Moon, Monday, rivers, and sight.
The golden garden: gold, the Sun, Sunday, evaporation, and the 6th sense.

The parc is situated on the site where
the Citroen factory stood from 1915
until 1970. When it was moved to the
outside of Paris.

Lots to see, definitely worth a visit!

What a small world and Blogging .. Amazing!

I have been following a blog
for a little while now ...
written by Diane.

Yesterday I left a comment on this post...
Diane said she could not get
a poster as she did not know
where to get one, which is fine,
but she does have a spare copy
of the Charante magazine,
with an article in it .. if you send me
your address.. she would deliver it
when she returns
to the UK ... That is brilliant ..

BUT what is so unbelieveable is
that Diane has a house in the same
village as me!!!!!!

Sorry had to interrupt the Paris posts for this!

Part two .. Cite Internationale Universitaire De Paris

Beautiful area at the back !
The spire is the

Église du Sacré-Cœur de Gentilly

We didn't go into the church, it appeared to be closed.

The Spanish House

The Biermans-Laportre Foundation

Every year the Cité Internationale accommodates 10,000 students,

researchers and artists in its 40 houses.

The houses are from countries all over the world.. very interesting

to see the differences. Click on the link

above, and have look! I would like to go back and have

a longer look round.

My Holiday started when I ....

met up with Leesa and her husband Alex
at St Pancras and travelled back
with them to Paris.

They had been over on holiday.

The following day I met up with Barbara
(Leesa was busy, so couldn't come with us).

We had already discussed where we were going
so that was a start..! We headed for Parc Montsouris, we did
get there, but not first!

We went to the Cite international Universitaire de Paris
which is a fantastic building ..

Here is the front..
What an entrance!!

Back home now …

Lots to sort out,

and tons of photos to edit!

And to be honest blogging has

taken a bit of slow start!

I have felt a bit lost since being home,

no French around me, no speaking it or

listening to it .. a bit of a culture shock, and

I was only gone a few weeks!

I am going to show you some floral photos to keep you

going whilst I sort myself out !!

All photos taken in August 2010
