Not the weather for Kite Flying ....

One day in June, my husband decided he wanted to go Kite flying, with his new kite. On this particular day, where we live there was not a whisper of breeze, it was so still. He thought to himself, lets drive to one of highest points near to us....

you couldn't hear any movement...his kite flying was not to be!!! We drove to the Ridgeway National Trail and had a gentle stroll instead!!

He wanted to go and see an old fort site...but couldn't find a way in through the trees you see to his right!

  2. Anne, the winds must have all decided to hang about my neck of the woods, because they've always preceded the wretched hail that follows! Looks like it still was a nice day out for you both!

  3. If you couldn't go to fly a kite, Plan B sounded pretty cool. Glad you two got to have an adventure together!

  4. Hi Anne,
Very nice...though your kite flying plans did not pan out, you improvised a wonderful afternoon of walking.

I have not flown a kite in.... decades. Hawaii is great for that with it's tradewinds.

    See you soon.

  7. Ellee - Kite flying is a very serious business...and can be very expensive, some kites are in the hundreds. I tried it, and I cannot use Arni's, it was so strong, it nearly ripped my arm from the socket!! There are lots of kite shops in the UK. And competitions throughout the world.

  9. Hi Anne,
Thank you for your comment about our Passion Flower. We tried for years to get it to grow. Last year we had one blossom. This year it looks like we will have many! Hope you will give it a try. They are so unusual!

Has the wind changed? Have you all gone to fly kites?
