One day in June, my husband decided he wanted to go Kite flying, with his new kite. On this particular day, where we live there was not a whisper of breeze, it was so still. He thought to himself, lets drive to one of highest points near to us....
you couldn't hear any movement...his kite flying was not to be!!! We drove to the Ridgeway National Trail and had a gentle stroll instead!!
He wanted to go and see an old fort site...but couldn't find a way in through the trees you see to his right!
At least there was beautiful scenery to look at :-)
ReplyDeleteAnne, the winds must have all decided to hang about my neck of the woods, because they've always preceded the wretched hail that follows! Looks like it still was a nice day out for you both!
ReplyDeleteBeuatiful green scenery!
ReplyDeleteIf you couldn't go to fly a kite, Plan B sounded pretty cool. Glad you two got to have an adventure together!

Hi Anne,
ReplyDeleteVery nice...though your kite flying plans did not pan out, you improvised a wonderful afternoon of walking.
I have not flown a kite in.... decades. Hawaii is great for that with it's tradewinds.
See you soon.

Oh, dear, he didn't have the day he planned, did he? But you got to take some lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteHe sounds like a big kid...
ReplyDeleteHi everyone..we did have a good walk in the end, very enjoyable..Thank you !!! Might get the kite out again soon!!
ReplyDeleteEllee - Kite flying is a very serious business...and can be very expensive, some kites are in the hundreds. I tried it, and I cannot use Arni's, it was so strong, it nearly ripped my arm from the socket!! There are lots of kite shops in the UK. And competitions throughout the world.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great day anyway :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment about our Passion Flower. We tried for years to get it to grow. Last year we had one blossom. This year it looks like we will have many! Hope you will give it a try. They are so unusual!
Has the wind changed? Have you all gone to fly kites?

I just read your response to Ellee,
ReplyDeleteLooks like kike flying is strictly Arnie's sport!!

I love that you guys tried to fly a kite! It is great that you were able to walk in such a beautiful area even if you couldn't fly the kite.
