When we were asked to stay with our friends in France, that is where I thought our holiday would be based. I never dreamt of going to Germany, or Switzerland..in fact the truth of the matter is, I had no idea what we were going to do or where we would go. I just had France fixed to my brain!
Our wonderful friend Michael had other ideas for us, which was brilliant, we saw places that never would of occurred to us. On one of his days off, he drove us to Interlaken which is the secret capital of Switzerland's Bernese Oberland.
The town lies between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and has glorious mountain views of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.

I am not a 100% sure of the route, as I was in the back just in awe of the mountains we were driving through, and the little towns, where I wanted to stop, but as the time was getting on, and the weather was closing in, we needed to be there fast!! We drove through the mountains towards Luzern and then to Interlaken and on the way back we took the motorway.
Bonjour Anne;
ReplyDeleteTHanks for the beautiful photos of Switzerland, it is so pretty. I've been to Geneva a few times but after seeing this I need to vistit some other cities.
Have a great week!
It's beautiful :) wish I could go too.
ReplyDeleteAnne, well now that you mention Switzerland....please tell me that after all this lovely sightseeing, you got the chance to sample some swiss chocolate! I always buy whatever new thing is available at the souvenir shops whenever we're next to the italy-swiss border!
ReplyDeleteSomewhere else I am also a little familiar with! Nearby is Wengen our favourite ski resort.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and familiar scenery in the photos.
Wow, can you imagine living there! That would be an adventure but it would have to be with someone you totally get on with! Have you seen LEAP YEAR? Makes me wanna live in Ireland too! Great photos, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteOooh; now that I saw your pics, I want to see Switzerland !! I've only gone past there, going towards Italia.
Maybe you can return one day and discover more.
I'm like you; I live far away from any mountains, and when I'm there, I always get my eyeful.

ReplyDeleteInterlaken was my favourite part of Switzerland. Thanks for bringing back the memories!
ReplyDeleteInterlaken looks beautiful! It's on my life 'to do' list to spend Christmas somewhere like that one year...
