Our friend Micheal met us at Basel (Bale) airport and took us back to their (Micheal and Cynthia) house, and after a chat and a coffee, Micheal had to return to work, Arni wanted a rest and I wanted to explore..so off I went with my camera. I couldn't take it all in, I just walked and walked.. Clicking away, at all that took my eye.
Ever seen a house like this!!!!
My walk to took me to many wonderful little Rues, I thought I hope I don't get lost, not at all, one little tip, I always take a photo of the name of my Rue, just in case.
Great pictures you have here Anne,,
ReplyDeleteAnyway, can we exchange links with my blog http://www.oxbridgeessay.co.uk?
Thanks a lot in advance.
hope to hear from you soon.
what adorable houses and buildings! love the photo collection!
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to know why the houses have criss crossing wooden beams design on the outside. It could be for structure but it makes the house look too busy...lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, looks like it was nice and sunny there (cold, I'm sure)! That's a great tip to take a photo of your street, I'll have to remember that. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWow! I can see the German influence here. But the blue one is really striking!
ReplyDeleteI find myself thinking that there is a bit of Dutch influence here. Intriguing architecture.
ReplyDeleteThe blue one is a real eye catcher! It must be a fiddle repainting the houses and avoiding all the cross struts of wood. I wonder if they are decorative of structural? Usually quirks like that do start from practical needs?
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas and looking forward to seeing more of your great travel photos in 2010!
