Singapore and what it means to me..

As you know my lovely friends
send me cards from all over the world ,,

Singapore being one of the places , lovely to
receive cards but some can bring back memories.

What does

Singapore mean to me?

It makes me sad as it
was the last overseas place I was
ever with my dad.
We lived  there
1963 - 1966
when my dad was based at
Raf Tengah.
My dad at work !

After we returned to the UK , my dad was ill
and passed away 1967  at the age of 41 , the day after his Birthday .
Never forgotten , he was my life.

    1. Hello Pat , yes we lived there for 3 years, after my dad was posted there from Suffolk. We also lived in Germany and Holland; I lived in Germany in the 80's with my first husband who was in the Royal Air Force too. A very handsome man , and him being born in Malta :-) ,, I know you know the feeling ,, after all these years , the feelings have not gone away. Hope you are well , Lots of love xx

  4. Far too young for both of you. But you have been left with happy memories tinged with happiness. Some fathers leave behind tainted memories tinged with sadness (in the extreme). You have been blessed, Anne.

I was born in Aden (RAF) and lived in Cyprus as a teenager. It made me who I am but this is the stage of life when I am certain I am who I want to be, living with the man who was made for me. It all comes out in the wash!

Hi Pat - waving! Am back in the blogging fold - just need to write more posts!

  11. What a lovely post Anne, very sad for you and he was so young. It is great though that his memory lives on and this is a great tribute to him. I am sure you found this post very emotional I know how I felt writing about my brother.

You look just the same in your young photos as you do today, I would have recognised in any of these photos very easily. See you tomorrow :-) Take care Diane xox
