Great friends in Paris surprised me .........

with this beautiful card

I wondered where it was
from as no name on the front!

Turned it over and
it was from my good friends
Carolyn, Clive, Barbara and Leesa!

With four lovely messages on too.

Carolyn and Clive were visiting Paris
and were so lucky to meet up with
Leesa and Barbara again.

I am so pleased you all had a wonderful time.

Thank you to you all.

Lovely to be remembered.

These three wonderful ladies
also left a me a big surprise message
on the blog, when it was my birthday!!

That was a HUGE surprise!!

Isn’t it great when your friends remember you …..

I came back from my wonderful

time with my family in Montreal,

to a mat full of post.

Not just birthday cards but

POSTCARDS too!

Thank you to my wonderful blogging friend Britt-Arnild from Trondheim Norway…. who sent me a card from Rorvik in Norway.

One of her blogs is called House in the Woods, which is amazing. You will need a lot of spare time ..

It is so interesting and no doubt you will get side tracked on to her other great blogs… one of which is Trondheim through all seasons!

Thank you ........

to you all
for the wonderful
comments in the
last few days.

I am trying
to get round to your blogs
or send an email.

If I have missed
you out, not
done on purpose.

I seemed to have
lost my
blogging enthusiasm
at the mo.

Not like me at
all, but I suppose
we all go through
this once in a while!

Hopefully I will
get some photos
up, over the
next few days.

Birthday Gift Surprise ........

before I left for my holiday.
My holiday to Montreal
was a spur of the moment trip.
Booked one week before
as I have always been unsure
of flying, especially on my own.

My Daughter-in-law is always ready on time
for gifts and cards, so once she heard I was
going, she got my card etc off in the post.

I was going to take it with me and
OPEN on the DAY.
Claire phoned me and said " I think you
better open it,
as it might be handy!
That got me thinking!!

Pink Hearts Travel Document Holder by Emma Bridgewater.

Claire and I had seen this on a day out at Millets Farm near me, quite a while ago. Millets Farm is one of those places with Flowers and Gifts and a Restaurant where everyone goes on a Sunday!!

I was truly surprised.. it is great and very girly ♥♥

When was the last time you .........

Went out of your comfort zone?
When was the last time
you had to over come your
fear of doing something
you dread?
I would normally just say no,
so that I didn't have to face
the fear.

I remember how I felt
when I went to Paris to
look after a friend's cats
and apartment on my own.

I was very nervous, but I knew
that I had lots of friends around me
to contact.

This time I am going WAY
out of my comfort zone...

Tomorrow
I am flying on my own!!
First time ever
To Canada...

Yep flying to Montreal
for a week,
staying with my cousin and family.

My husband is going too, but
he is going with the Formula 1 team
at a different time.

I hope all my readers
have a brilliant week
lets hope we all have some
wonderful sunshine too!

So while I am away , I would like all of my readers

Old and New to take this award for their blogs.

I have had quite a few new readers

in the past few months.. which is so great.

Welcome and I hope you stick around.

BTW forgot to add...

Only booked the trip last monday!!!

Changing Guard at Buckingham Palace.......

Leesa and I had a great trip to Buckingham Palace,

which was absolutely heaving.... they say to be there by 11.15 am , I think a lot earlier!

My great friend Leesa

Please click on photos to enlarge!

This is a poem written by A.A.Milne who also

wrote Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner.

Christopher Robin was based upon the author A. A Milne's,

own son Christopher Robin Milne.

Buckingham Palace

They're changing guard at Buckingham Palace -
Christopher Robin went down with Alice.
Alice is marrying one of the guard.
"A soldier's life is terrible hard,"
Says Alice.

They're changing guard at Buckingham Palace -
Christopher Robin went down with Alice.
We saw a guard in a sentry-box.
"One of the sergeants looks after their socks,"
Says Alice.

They're changing guard at Buckingham Palace -
Christopher Robin went down with Alice.
We looked for the King, but he never came.
"Well, God take care of him, all the same,"
Says Alice.

They're changing guard at Buckingham Palace -
Christopher Robin went down with Alice.
They've great big parties inside the grounds.
"I wouldn't be King for a hundred pounds,"
Says Alice.

They're changing guard at Buckingham Palace -
Christopher Robin went down with Alice.
A face looked out, but it wasn't the King's.
"He's much too busy a-signing things,"
Says Alice.

They're changing guard at Buckingham Palace -
Christopher Robin went down with Alice.
"Do you think the King knows all about me?"
"Sure to, dear, but it's time for tea,"
Says Alice.

Onwards through Admiralty Arch....

I walked down the Mall ..
not knowing exactly where I was going,

but decided to turn off to my right ..
where I came upon

Duke of York monument from the Mall

I continued walking where I came upon
statue after statue!

Lord Lawrence

Robert Falcon Scott

Colin Campbell 1st Baron Clyde

Crimean War Memorial

Sir John Franklin

I walked a little bit more then decided to head back,

got a little side tracked and ended up here!

If you look at the map closely, you will see

a red spot.. I was there!

Back with more soon!! ♥

Flowers from my brother …….

Last weekend my brother came down to stay with me, he was a great help. He always likes to potter about, doing little jobs! This time he pottered about by cleaning the block paving in the garden .. which for some reason never stays weed free!  And I got flowers!!
