is another place I was lucky enough to get to. The sun was shining, people out walking, people watching outside the cafes. My husband said it was very strange to be there with me, as he is normally working for the Race. He just wanted me to see it. It was fabulous. I am going to have to plan a trip for the Monaco Grand Prix..better start saving my pounds, not pennies!!!
I have absolutely no idea why those statues are on top of the phones boxes, thought they looked fun though!!!
Oh beautiful. I hope to get to Monaco one day!!! Glad you were able to go
ReplyDeleteMonaco is a unique and beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteMy Melange - it is a beautiful place, hope you get there one day soon :-)
ReplyDeletePhivos - I was stunned to silence when I saw Monaco..beautiful.
How cool you got there, and great your hubby wanted you to see it with him. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI have never been, but it looks lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteHard to beat Monaco. I've never been there for those races either.
ReplyDeleteThose arne't actually statues - there F1 fans PRETENDING to be statues so they can get the best vantage point to watch the race!
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, hope you don't mind me posting, i stumbled upon your blog whilst doing some routine searches for Monaco. I fell in love with Monaco a few years ago during the grand prix and so much so that i started helping other people to see the race (around 200-300 per year now - just shows how popular it is!!) and I'm planning on spending a few months in the south of France & Monaco next year with the family to improve our French. Good to find another Monaco fan, best wishes, ed, fugaref1.com

ReplyDeleteHi Ed, thank so much for commenting,You are very welcome!
ReplyDeleteIt is very hard for me to imagine what Monaco was like, I was not disappointed, well a little bit, it was not race weekend!! I can imagine how popular it is..I know a few people that have been.
If I had the money I would go to the race, maybe I should start sorting it out now. My husband works for Williams Formula 1 but there is no chance of me getting a ticket :-(..but I have been Magny cour and Spa..both fantastic. Went with my friends.
An excellent idea to spend time in France and Monaco, it will be a great help to you for your French, best way to learn. Hope you and your family have a brilliant time there.
Will have a look at your site.
Thanks once again..best wishes Anne
Hi Anne,
ReplyDeleteI never have been so far down South, so it is always nice to live things vicariously !
Yes save up to one day experience more !!
Cheers
Hi Barbara...I will have to start saving now!!! and the way the economic world is going, there might not Formula 1 much longer, just have to read the Sports news...but there will always be France and Paris..so you never know, maybe that is where I will head next :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen I marry my millionnaire I'll join you there!
ReplyDeleteWelshcakes - When I find a millionaire, I will buy a house so huge, and invite you all over...!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am SO jealous! I got to Monacco for a day back in 1997 and would love to go back. However, I must admit I felt like the "poor tourist" while there!
ReplyDeleteLeslie, that is what I would feel like if I went on Race day...you have to be young and rich!!! At least if I went I would be a TRUE FAN. As if they are the slightest bit interested!! :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAnd happy holidays :)
