Poem that cheered me up.

The Orange

At lunchtime I bought a huge Orange

The size of it made us laugh

I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave -

They got quarters and I got half.

And that orange, it made me so happy

As ordinary things often do

Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park.

This is peace and contentment. Its new.

The rest of the day was quite easy.

I did all the jobs on my list

And enjoyed them and had some time over.

I love you. I'm glad I exist.

Bronte, the Italian capital of the pistachio

http://www.bronteinsieme.it/BrIns_en/4ec_en/pist_en.html

I have found Welshcake Lemoncellos blog so interesting....I have only been to Sicily once, and oh how I want to go back...just reading about the Orange and Lemon groves, the Pistachios, her recipes, just brings back memories of our visit last November. And the fish markets are just heaven if you love fish...we went to a brilliant one in Ortigia....fish sellers down one side and fruit and veg on the other..it was amazing. Really must visit again!!!!

BORAGE - Interesting Information

Here is an interesting link with information about Borage. Tried to put this link onto Welshcake Lemoncello's site, where the post originated, but had difficulties.....

More Etna photos

Just a few of our photos, breath taking....

My Ceramics

Since moving down to Grove, I have started doing ceramics again. Here are some examples of my work.

My friend has a lovely shop, where we can just pop into paint, or just for coffee.

Excellent ideas for birthdays, christenings, weddings and of course, christmas presents!!!.

Mount Etna

Whilst on holiday in Sicily, we took the opportunity to go and visit Mount Etna. The drive up there was fantastic, and the views were amazing. Once we reached our destination, we took the cable car to the highest point we could. The trip started from the height of 1923 mt climbing to 2500 mt. Once I overcame the nerves, I managed to take some photos. Will try and add more later.

Holiday in Sicily

In November 2006, my husband and I had an unforgettable holiday in Sicily. We flew to Cantania, then hired a car and drove south to Marine Park of Plemmirio, where we found our gorgeous villa that we had rented. The photo to the left is of the view out of our kitchen window. We had our own private gate (pictured) to the beach, and apart from a few
fisherman in the morning and night, it was all ours. We were very lucky with the weather, so took full advantage, and lazed about and read, ate and drank!!!
