Poem that cheered me up.

The Orange

At lunchtime I bought a huge Orange

The size of it made us laugh

I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave -

They got quarters and I got half.

And that orange, it made me so happy

As ordinary things often do

Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park.

This is peace and contentment. Its new.

The rest of the day was quite easy.

I did all the jobs on my list

And enjoyed them and had some time over.

I love you. I'm glad I exist.

If you write to me on that one, I'll reply and let you have the other one which I look at the most. It would be nice to be in touch that way. Buon weekend.

  5. Oh Anne - this is a smashing poem. Not least because my two adult sons are called Robert and Dave - sweet memories of their childhood. I found you via Sicily Scene - I'll be back!

  6. Here is one for you Anne, to feel like this must be heaven.....
    Husband, lover friend.
when clouds hang low and skies are grey, you are the sunshine in my day.
i feel the warmth of your embrace your every touch makes my heart race.
each year we share gets better still your voice your smile, give me a thrill.
When times are hard we'll pull together your hand in mine through stormy weather.
We know life will not be all bliss but tears can vanish with a kiss.
Oh dearest husband lover friend my heart is yours till journeys end.
