Caroline and I had a really great day out at the Botanic Gardens in Oxford.
We were amazed by the plants grown, the different Cacti, the Palms and such
a wide variety of really exotic and the unusual..
I would say well worth the £3 pounds and you can stay in there as long as you like, just a lovely place to relax.
Brilliant - sounds like a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are brilliant too :)
You would have been in your element.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen so many strange looking plants, but beautiful at the same time. Looks like a great place to visit.
ReplyDeleteAnne, if they have a cafe on premises then this would surely be the spot to pass some time. I would love a place where you could enjoy the flora, sit a spell for some coffee, then wander off back into the gardens again.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn-Thanks it is a fab place..pleased you liked the photos.
ReplyDeleteJames - oh yes It was a great place!
Linda - The photos are the ones of the "strangest" plants..you would enjoy it.
Rowena - I don't think there is a cafe :-( but you could picnic down near the river, then walk round a bit more. Then go for a coffee at the end ,in one of the many shops in the High Street! We went for lunch after walking round the gardens!
Hi Anne,
ReplyDeleteOoooh; love it !
I love botanical gardens. I could recognize a pitcher plant and I think some type of orchid. You see I love plants but am far from being a botany expert.
Thanks for the peek !
Hugs xx
I HAVE BEEN TO THEOSE GARDEN MANY TIMES..BRINGS BACK HAPPY MEMORIES!!
ReplyDeleteI never really gave a second thought to the cactus plant until I traveld to Gran Canaria. They had the most beautiful cactus garden and I had such a fun time photographing them and really studying them up close. I love the unusual plant in the thrid photo. Nice.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great place and well worth the fee. Wonderful pics.
ReplyDeleteThis is one place i still have to visit in Cambridge and its just across the road from where Geoff lives too. was on my list of things to do while he was away but i ran out of time :-)
ReplyDeleteThose plants are amazing! And your photos too!
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought about cacti in Oxford?! Not I for sure! Thanks for sharing with us. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures Anne, I too like exotic plants.
ReplyDeleteLike Alison, We have holidayed in Gran Canaria and the plants are quite exotic, particularly in the centre of the Island and breathtaking scenery too!

I've never visited the gardens in Oxford. yet another reason to visit :-)
Dear Anne, thank you so much for leaving a comment on my blog! Your trip to Paris in April sounds like it was a lot of fun. I love botanical gardens too and I used to enjoy going to the gardens when I lived in Edinburgh. Have fun on your next trip to Paris! Jennifer
