Congratulations and Well done......

to my friend Sally, who has just passed her 2nd Diploma....yes 2nd. The first one was for Swedish Body Massage and yesterday she found out that she had passed for Indian Head Massage. She has so much confidence it is unreal...Don't let her tell you different :-).

She always says it is Geoff who has made this possible...but as Geoff said in his comment "Well done Sally you deserve all the praise it was ALL down to you"

Happy 2nd Blogiversary.....

to Leesa...who has a very cheerful blog all about her life in France. Meeting up with expat friends, blogger friends, lunching at all her new found cafes, shopping trips, Paris and other places she visits. I love reading her blog, and seeing all the great places she visits. Thanks Leesa..

A walk with a difference...

Whilst travelling into Oxford today...an advert on the bus caught my eye....

THE OXFORD MOONLIGHT STROLL 2009 Saturday 11th July

I didn't think about it again, until returning home, there it was again!

The stroll is in aid of the Sobell House Hospice Charity , that has been providing care and support to those residents of Oxfordshire affected by life-limiting illness since 1976.

I think this would be a good walk for my friends and I. It would certainly be different and at the same time, help others! Now if I had been in a car, I would never of seen this...so taking the bus can make a difference!!

Snowy Walk!!

On Sunday I got together with some friends from the church to go walking. Mad you might say, it was thick snow but not cold. At least it wasn't raining! Actually it did try to rain on our way there, but luckily for us it stopped. The snow fell as we were walking but we didn't mind.

We all met in Wantage Civic Hall carpark..and from there we drove out to Badbury Hill or Badbury Clump as it is known by locally.

If you look at the map. we followed the red line clockwise..we walked through the woods a bit, over the snowy white fields and made our way to the Great Coxwell Barn..
..Wow this place was amazing..I managed to get a few photos, it was bit dark, but they came out!!

From here we trundled over the fields, climbing over stiles, just chatting away, two friends had brought their dogs..oh yes the dogs had a brilliant time..they couldn't believe it. We walked to Colleymore Farm and then up to Brimstone Farm. Where we then had the upward climb back to our cars, parked in Badbury Clump. To make our way home..but not before we had to help push the cars out of the snow!!

I took a few photos along the way....

Three of us stopped off at The Horse and Jockey for a quick half!!! No not wine this time, but half a guinness!! You have to, just to end the great walk we had!! It was a fantastic afternoon, with friends, and hopefully we shall be doing another walk in two weeks time.

Oh yes I just had to do an angel in the snow!!!!

A start to our Walking....

Last Sunday a small group of us, got together for a walk. We were going to be in Oxford anyway, so we arranged a walk to Jarn Mound and back. The weather was great considering the amount of rain we had in the previous days, but no one could predict that the walk was going to take us to the muddiest of places!!

This walk took us a little bit longer than we thought, and was starting to get dark as we made our way back to the cars, but all ended well..In The Fishes in North Hinksey!!! This was quite a strange experience..I have never been into a pub without any shoes on,..our boots were caked and just out of curtesy we removed them and lined them up in the foyer. So there we were, sitting on very comfy chairs, glass on wine, the warmth of the pub..I felt like I was at home...!

A good afternoon was had by all..the weather was kind to us, and we made it home safely.

We have another walk planned for next week, weather permitting..by that I mean no rain, storms, or snow.
